Seems I'm Back

Fri Jul 21, 2006, 6:47 PM
Well, I was banned from DA and I'm back, or so it seems...
I don't know why i was banned because i make my own art, i don't steal anything. I know i never remember to credit the owners of the resourses i use (brushes, textures and such) but i don't do it on purpose, i'll be happy to give credit where is due.
So, i guess i'll see you guys soon. Now i really don't feel like posting all my arts again, for a second time...
See ya!

Hey!

Sun Jun 4, 2006, 4:35 PM
Hello people! My term tests are finally over so i will have more time to dedicate to my art, anyway i post new pieces very often.
Thks to a very good tutorial by Anuka, a friend from this Veronica Mars spanish forum: [link] I've learned how to make animated icons. As you can see, i've added a few.
Yesterday i saw a very beautifull movie, "Garden State" and couldn't help making some icons of the movie, i will make more, promess. Also, there is Evan Rachel Wood, new subject of art 'cause i've never done anything of her. She's a cuttie.
Right now my computer is a real mess, i'm ussually very organized with it but now it's awfull. I have many many folders so i can find what i want the moment i want it, but these days i haven't been organized. I must take some time to put things in order and save my files in a cd. I allways do that, so if somenthing happens i won't lose aything. I have too many things i my pc, poor baby she's so fat!! jaja.. For example, i have 2 Veronica Mars folders, and only one of them contains 2029 files and 14 folders, my Miscellanous folder contains 1111 archives and 3 folders, and so on.. Only in my desktop i have 11 folders and they contain more or less the same ammount of archives. Then, i have a dvd and others cds with more files. Now that i think about it i gotta burn some cd's and clean up my baby.
Once again, i apologize:
- if my english is not too good, i'm from Argentina.
- that i never remember the owners of the resources i use, i'm so sorry guys!!. It's just that i download them and then i don't now where the hell i got them from. But you must know that i don't make textures, brushes, gradients or any art resourse at all, so the credit goes to the beautifull people that does it.
See ya!!!

Me and Photoshop... and some TIPS

Tue May 23, 2006, 3:39 PM
Hey guys!
As I told you in my previous entry I've been working with photoshop for about 3 months now. Before PSP, i used to make wallpapers or banner with other programs, such as PhotoFiltre (that i still use for some small stuff) and Paint, yeah! Paint!, please don't laugh at me. But to tell you the truth it was preatty cool to be done in Paint, so I'm proud of my self.
And to be honest and shameless I'm proud of my improvement with PSP too, I made some cute stuff in a very short time. Of course, that's credit for the tutorials, there's a lot of people out there that makes wonderfull tutorials and they helped me a lot. Now that i know some stuff i don't ussually follow the tutorials literally, i fit them into my own style.
For me, they key to a good icon is to create many layers, as much as you can. Even if you set one to a 5% opacity it makes a difference.
To improve the quality of a picture i used to play with the curves, but now we are not getting along so much, so i duplicate the base layer many times and set it to screen until i get the light i want and most of the times i desaturate the last copy of the base layer and set it to soft light, it turns out pretty cool.
I love the exclussion layer!!, i use it in most of my icons, it just adds a cool color to the icon. I use a very very dark blue.
I don't create any sort of resourses, nor textures, or brushes or patterns or gradients or anything like that. I'm sorry but i never remember the owners of the resourses i use, i know! i suck!... but if you happen to know please tell me, i'll be happy to give credit where it's due. The stock images are also taken from different webs, as my favourite list is too long i can't figure out where they belong, sorry too!
I don't create tutorials because i don't feel qualified, but if you need some help just ask me here, or by mail (vmarsarg@aim.com) or by msn (nodoubtargentina@hotmail.com).

See ya later!!!
